Hi Pete and all,

That smiley after the rock comment should have told you I was only
joking, no need to get your knickers all in a knot. Then it all went pear
shaped downhill from there and I just don't understand why, sorry if I
caught you in a bad mood or something.

For what it's worth that Thunderbirds TV thing was ITV or something
related intended for worldwide distribution but maybe when you were a kid
you didn't spend Saturday mornings in front of the TV, oh well.

Sorry 'bout the drift, maybe I got confused again thinking you meant
shipping locos to Australia during WW2. Actually Britain did ship some
during the late 1800s up until the 1920s but really not many, too bad the
name of the West Australian mining company eludes me but they have a
working Garratt in a shed all ready to go, no rust in the desert. They
were very common in Africa since they were built for the long haul
between fuel and water stops so four ended up in WA hauling iron ore,
only one left though. Most rolling stock however was built on the
continent itself, the foundry in Gawler SA still stands although
converted to shops with a loco restored by the Lions Club under a shed in
the park. When it comes to railroads and mines Australia has quite a
colorful history!

Yeah, Sir Wazzisface Branson, nice to be so rich you own England and have
the Royal Family as servants............. (;->)

Right about that, not enough interest in those sunken locos to invest so
much money in looking closer at the paper trail let alone raise and
restore them. I tend to agree, everyone who does such things has an
agenda that pays off in the end (if you can keep Florida from stealing
the gold) and even in a museum without detailed documentation they're
just curios.

Speaking of 'brekkie" I munched a bit of fried chicken left over from
yesterday. It didn't sit too well, should have waited for that second
cuppa... <oof burp>
