It goes without saying that there will be a book and a film about the
Saving of Private Lynch and Ms Lynch will end up with millions of dollars.

Cynical? Yes but true.

What I would like to see is a film about the unknown cameraman who
accompanied BBC reporter John Simpson when they were bombed in a
"Friendly Fire" attack which killed around 20 people.
For those who didn't see the entire thing. It was sanitized for daytime
viewing. John Simpson's cameraman caught some shrapnel in the head when
the bomb went off. Blood from his forehead was on the camera lens when he
hit the deck. You saw his hand come around to wipe the blood off before
he crawlwed forward to get better shots of the dead and dying, as well as
John Simpson staggering around before his professionalism asserted itself and
he started a report to camera. The edited report, when he had returned from
getting medical treatment, was still riveting.

Cameramen and journalists don't get medals. I can envision John Simpson
making a programme out of the incident and making a good bit of money.
I do hope they mention the name of that cameraman. He was probably
working automatically at the time but he does need a mention at least.

Just a thought. Ian. 73.
