Hi All,

In several previous bulletins over the years I have mentioned that my
"other hobby" is making short movies. The movies are initially used for
competition work and then released for general showing.

I would like to make a movie with a target audience of 18 to 55 year olds
on the topic of Ham Radio.

Now in all honesty what is it about ham radio that is rivetting enough to
hold an audiences attention for up to 30 minutes?

Hopefully the movie will serve to promote the hobby favourably, so full
fiction like the cinema movie "Frequency" is probably not ideal, nor is
the
type of comedy skit promoted in Hanckocks "it are raining in Tokyo" from
which Hams have been suffering sly remarks ever since it went to air.

Videos of old codgers being impressed by talking into a microphone doesn't

grab the young folk who have the equivalent in internet chat rooms, hi
tech
whizz bang just confuses non tech viewers, a text based 1200bps packet
system will only raise a snigger with internet users, so what can I cover
to make the hobby of ham radio desirable to the general public?

Remembering that this is small budget stuff which cuts out train wrecks,
car chases, and dangerous stunts, what do you suggest. Some nudity and
pretty girls are options if that focusses your mind.

                                  Regards Tony VK3FBD
