I heard something about this a couple of days ago. My reaction was exactly
the same as Bob's. And many more I feel sure,too.

So far as I can recall, the induction effect of two coils carrying an
alternating current has been known since the days of Tesla( i.e.the 19th
century!). Maybe his work did occur at power frequecy (50/60 Hz).  But it
was a device called a transformer! The induction field at a frequency like
10MHz would easily extend to a greater distance than on 50 Hz so what is
new! Particularly if the lamp which was lit was one of the low energy
compact fluorescents. The report didn`t address this! You could save the
second copper coil!

I cant imagine a more inefficient way of getting rid of a bit of wire.
Where did the power for the 10 MHz generation come from?
