We had , quite awhile ago some discussion about LDEs.
And yes, it could be possible to record and retransmit such.
If I am not mistaken , these LDEs where notet first quite a
long time ago.
And this was on CW. So something more than a simple tape
recorder would have to be used (then ! ) A answering TX had
to be keyed at the right fashion, including chirps, hum,and
fist.
Not impossible that it is a manmade idea, in lieu for
annother explanation.
The american Ham-Radio magazine CQ had in the last couple of
editions some articles about the phenomen, if you have acess
to these.
(you mentioned that already)
