In an earlier bulletin I mentioned that a very large number of useful
DOS applications and utilities can be found at this site:

http://short.stop.home.att.net/freesoft/index.htm

I highly recommended the word processor program "Breeze".

When Michael ZL1ABS began sending HTML bulletins, I downloaded several
html viewers from the site in order to evaluate them. "ViewHtml" works
very well and has perhaps the nicest user interface.

Unfortunately none of the viewers could display the HTML images, so as
a compromise I downloaded several image viewers so that I could try to
view the images separately. I found "PictView" to be the best.

Unlike the other applications which require the user to type the target
filename on a command line, ViewHtml and PictView have menu systems that
allow scrolling through your drive's directories. PictView ignores
irrelevant files and reports only the ones it can process, e.g. gif, jpg,
etc, a nice feature.

I'm still looking for an html viewer for DOS that displays the images.
Hoping someone finds this useful or interesting, or even nostalgic,
