I don't want to devalue your opinion, but I feel I need to make a comment
or 3;

A case again of forcing the consumer into usng or upgrading systems to
limit the freedom of choice. Consumerism in the guise of progress.
 Nothin wrong with dos.

I still play with dos (albeit MS) 5 & 6.2.Good to keep the hand in & the
brain alie. Plug & play, click-click doesn't cut the mustard when it mucks
it's nappies. sure it is easy, but what is the learning? you become more
dependent on those forcing limited operator participation all the time.
Duh!!

Many good programs in DOS even for packet. Personal experience- TPK is a
little ripper, as many users will attest.
The MuckyShaft M.O sdems to be Change it often to keep the punters (&
developers) on the back foot. Some manage to stay with it (G4IDE is a good
example) with the W*nd*ze progression, bit with an XP unit inside it is a
P.I.T.A on some things. But it is also more intent on tracking all my
moves. The W98se on this beast is a bit of a worry but so was 95a (from 30
floppies! a term &1/2 to load, & no IE to get AGW working - been there,
done that, hated the T-shirt)
As you may have gathered, I despise corporate greed.

If they can keep up with the development of their products to match the
OS they operate under.

Just because it is older technology, it doesn't mean it is of no further
use.
