Hello again
Yes, it is interresting that the discussion of morse will
not vanish.
It is probably me , someone else uttered : He is aclaiming
"software" in place of (self inflicted morse) knowledge
...and he should have known better.
Tja. Thats it. No , gentlemen (the ones left) I mean ...if
you can leave it to software to keep you...yourself...free
to do other chores, concentrate to the task ahead.... No ,
nothing against the knowledge, but advocating a more apt,
future orientated, acccented and concentrated means of
comms. Eh ? hows that? Comrades?
Remember ? Star Trek ...one episode ; Mr Schpock (yes , I
know) Just love Schpock) raising his ears and disclaming :
19 Century...Radio!
Well , we are not there yet.
This debate will not die as long as you can turn a radio on
AND off.
If a human ...beware...a Ham is left to his own oops /her
own devices knowledge and candid behaviour with the learned
code is a nice supplement.
If you rather mean a Stoneage discendant at his/her shack in
todays environment, well , why stick to the proven elements?
Ham -Radio is for the furthering and development of radio,
the self teaching and exploring of the new and unchartered
means outta there.
Come on , Morse Boffins , there is a new and exiting world
out there.
There is more to it than dit-dahh. Nothing against it. I
know it well. Even tried it. It is time for new things to
explore.
NO (!) Wonder that Ham-Radio looses some of its shine...but
then ,when you play Morse at gatherings and Explorations,
Festivals and Demonstrations...it will draw the most
crowds...Fascination. That it is.
Most likely THE Argument is right in both directions. We
know. We know so well.
100 years or so of Morse have not brought new insight. Other
modes..YES.
Consider...The use of Cell phone in school classes. If ever
the teacher will find out. The youth today downloads new
call signals which are way above the old teachers hearing.
They chat and SMS as they go. No older teacher ever knows.
Morse ? PAH...
There has been a search for a better mouse-trap ever. But ,
alas , no one has improved on the mouse.
See Radio this way.
With that I leave you to think, improve and forward.
