"I could hardly believe this. Some years ago I bought an Epson 720 Photo
colour printer for around $400. It is a very good printer and it does a
very good job, and the replacement cartridges have been relatively cheap.
I went in today to the shop where I bought it to buy replacement ink
cartridges. I was told they are no longer available as it is cheaper to
replace the printer. The cartridges cost about $25 for colour and less
than that for black. total about $50.

I had bought another Epson for about $100 - model C87 colour for a second
computer setup I have here. Saved changing the printer from one set up to
the other. It does not do as good a job as the 720 and it is not as
reliable. Now it seems I am supposed to throw the perfectly good Epson 720
in the bin and buy a new printer because the makers no longer supply
cartidges? This is ridiculous!

Hi Bob,

Yes, printers are very cheap these days and the money is made selling OEM
ink cartridges. I've been given printers simply because they were out of
ink & the cost to reload was higher than buying a "less than $100" new
printer. The local Mall has a kiosk that sells ink cartriges & gets them
refilled. It's one way to get more use from an "obsolete model" printer by
having the catridges refilled.

There might be a place where you could internet/mail order some
replacement ink for the EPSOM 720?
