Hi Bob and others,

Think how much could be done for global warming if manufacturers were only
allowed to bring out one new model every five years. It would certainly
help control this "I must have a new model" mentality which is so rampant
in the car industry and which is so wastefull of energy and resources.

By the way have you thought of refilling your old cartridges? We have a
plethora of little shops doing just that and it's much cheaper as well.

You may not have realised it but the purchase price of the printers is
heavily subsidised by the manufacturer and they are sold at below
manufacturing cost. The profits are made on the heavily marked up ink
cartridges. The actual manufacturing cost of an ink cartridge is under $2
per unit.

Recently we were receiving adds which would actually give you a full
colour laser printer for nothing provided you bought all the toner
cartridges from the man who gave you the printer.
                                         Regards Tony VK3API
