Hi packeteers, my brothers

I personally don't like the amateur radio networks connected to *ANY*
other
networks, and that includes the telephone network or internet.

BUT, and it's a BIG BUT, it is legal for many stations to connect the
amateur
packet network to other networks ( and that probably includes CB ).
In this country anyone who has applied for Site Clearance for a GB7** NODE
is given such authority.

I quote from the authorisation that I have recently received :-

"When operating under this authority, for the purposes of operations
under the Wireless Telegraphy Acts, the Licensee shall be permitted to
connect the station to non-amateur networks."

unquote.

I most certainly will NOT be connecting the GB7 node at my address to any
'non-amateur networks' but if I wished to, then it would be perfectly
legal for me to do so.

Thank you, Pete, for Hams in countries of which the national regulations
don't allowed to be connected to a "non-amateur" net (in France for
example).

If in some countries hams are allowed to be connected so, every one in
these countries must pay attention to countries like mine.

I know we are, in France, a little bit different than the rest of the
World but that is our regulation and we cannot do differently : no
connections on a non-amateur net and, by the way, no non-amateur bulls on
the french packet net.

More, is it realy good for Amateurs Community to mix up ham and non-ham
activities ?

One more time, thank you Pete, I believe you are right.
