D'Day from A Winter Wonderland this morning as we seem to be
getting a Blizzard "again" when the local Ground Hog called
for an early spring...

>Title : Re: VE3WBZ > The Bobmobile

The Bobmobile ..???? Mmmmm...???? well there is a packet
posting from Bobo this AM giving me a dusting down, but
as usual Bobo deals in the past and not addressing the
obvious question ....AGAIN..which is the noise supression
in some large trucks like perhaps the Kenwoods or yeah
Warren even the Ontario built Peterbuilt trucks.

> "Come away with me Lucielle, in my merry Bobmobile..."

Aaah .... now I have to let you and Ray figure out the
Bobomobile ...

>"I have a rear mounted antenna..."
>
>As you quoted, that's not an 18 wheeler in his drive.

No it isn't ... but I shall deal with it all further when
I answer Bob in his posting.

Funny. You called it a pesky "air dam". I thought it was
a air foil to give some advantage to driving with the trailer
like better fuel mileage, but then I have never had the
opportunity to give it a go.

 As I promised Indy VK2XB ... I did a search to see if I
could get a hold of "Antenna Specialists" based in Ohio.
I remembered their supressor kits being sold to mostly
truckers along with antennas and well Antenna Specialist
Antennas were the favourite skyhook for many people in
the Toronto area ..... BUT ...now the bad news and a
shock to me.... Antenna Specialists was sold to another
company...so they are now gone!

Sorry Indy. I will keep looking, and trying to get
ahold of a few drivers here to see what they think on
the topic, as well ask them what rig they are driving
around our part of the world.

Warren ..you hint of the advancements in the motors
and how some kits like the distributor kits are not
needed anymore...yeah...I just found in the garage
a set of points for my 1969 Plymouth Dart 340...mmmm
yeah... no need in my present Toyotuna-tin.

That is interesting and worth repeating, as also I found
just as I was typing this, that certain radio manufacturers
of two way radios have designed radios for use in the big
rigs..which makes me think perhaps???? Just asking if
perhaps they have something added inside the radio itself??

Well... that is all dinney ken me too...so it will be
also interesting what Indy and Bill VK4FW might have to
say on all this...given now they are going conduit pipes
now!

If that doesn't work....what is next? If it does work
then perhaps your filter bug in the middle of feeders
is the answer?

Thanks Warren ... I did enjoy your thoughts on it...as well
what the auto audio shops are putting in their customer's
cars to kill anything.... and while I know it is only a
car...perhaps they might also have some solutions...and
also perhaps some truckers as customers.

ttfn

Peter
