Subject: Re 1 minute pause

Hi Matt (VK2RQ). I'm not connecting directly to the BBS's in question, they are
NetRom level 4 connections. If the sysop has marked my callsign as a BBS, I
get the pause on connection. If he hasn't marked me as a BBS I connect straight
in. Strange.

The FBB forwarding protocol has been around for more than 20 years, and we've
never had a problem with it before. As I understand it, tou connect to a BBS,
it sends its SID, then you send your SID and start forwarding. That's not
happening with BPQ. I connect, and wait, and wait and wat, and eventually I get
the SID,whereupon I start forwarding.

It's happened on 2 BPQ BBS's now, so maybe it's an unscientifically small
sample and I didn't stop to note if they were Linux or Windows. I just wondered
if anyone else had observed it, or knew what it was about.

73, Paula
