SM7UZI doesn't seem to understand about Nodes and Digipeaters. BPQ nor Flexnet
with a digipeater are not made for users so What's the use with Win 95 ? They
operate usually on remote sites and the smallest the environment is the more
practical it becomes. What's the use for Win 95 with nobody to watch the
screen. Both systems can operate from a disquette, for a Node in BPQ or a
digipeater in Flexnet no matter the number of ports thay don't actually need
any Hard drive. A bootable disquette will do, and BPQ is so small the
disquette is almots empty. Pc/Flexnet will leave 800 kb free including the DOS
a small text editor, high memory drivers and all the drivers neeeded for such
and such modem or TNC.
The user type Flexnet is without the digi. and comes into the 3.3f version or
the Flex95 kit.
The real thing for a remote digipeater are the 3.3e and 3.3g and coming soon a
Linux Flexnet which will need, of course a large HDD.
And for BPQ a user doesn't need that, The best thing with Win 95/98 is a TNC2
in Host mode TF2.7b (no driver needed) and a good Windows program like Wingt.
