It is not the latest, it ahve been avalialbe for a very long time.
The network is a net/rom network, but there are many much better net/rom nodes
than bpq to use, like thenetnode ith its new improved rouuting.

If you want it write me an e-mail and I will send it!

No not really, morse codes & rtty are useful some times.
You can say the net/rom also is useful(even thou other protocols like flexnet
is better), but why use the least good net/rom node avalialbe!
Why not use thenetnode or x-net if you want to use net/rom?
They can also rotue flexnet packets, and flexnet can route packets from those
nodes, so you can have more than one kind of node in a network.
And how well it will work is not only depending on the software used also to
use good hardware is important.

You can use what ever speed youw ant and you are still using ax25!
A net/rom node can connect through a flexnet network, you will not destroy the
net/rom network.
But since bpq is used must users of a flexnet node connect the closest bpq
node to be albe to connect othe bpq nodes.
If thenetnode or xnet where used could the two networks be connected.

Here si the network net working good, you can't connect any nodes far away
etc, so you could live with out it.
Sending files via it is impossible.
So I would be as happy without any bpq nodes at all, the links are only used
for mail forwarding and no nodes are needed for that.

>BPQ is NOT dead or obsolete, it is also one of the more reliable systems

But bpq can't be used for any high speeds and kiss is a real problem.
Bpqs net/rom routing is not working good, using any other node will make the
routing work much better.
It is hard to configure, most bpq nodes are misconfigured, since the operator
don't know how to make te probper settings.
The documentation is not very good and there are some iritating bugs.
No adaptive parameters like flexnet.
No support for dama and new packet modems.
It is not more reliable than flexnet!
If you for some strange reason want to use net/rom are ther better
alternatives.

That bpq is not dead, is nothing good, it is a result of conservatism and lack
of knowldge. Now a days are ther faster computeras avaliable for apcket use, so
better nodes bbses etc can be used.
But most peoples seems to se this like a problem not a possibillity.
That you maybe need more than one comptuer, a faster one etc is not a big
problem. Old computers 386, 486 etc are still suitlable for packet, but not
for much else, they are cheap and easy to get.
It is not very expensive to use a better node than bpq!

>I wonder if AGW or Flexnet will still be as popular in 5yrs?
Or maybe x-net.
