And that is true for 7pack, and 8pack as well. Even firmware with
support for 9pack can be made for every TNC. Oh yeah, not to mention all
the packs from 1 to 5, but that pretty obvious, isn't it? :-)
Of course firmware for any protocol can my made for any TNC. I'm sure a
firmware for TCP/IP can be made (is already made?) for any TNC, and the
only thing you need is a SLIP interface in order to connect a computer to
a network over the air with a TNC and tranceiver.
Bottom line is, you argumentation is not good, Anders. You can't say
Flexnet supports every TNC without also saying that a computer or any
other device with SLIP supports every TNC.
Oh yeah, my toaster supports every TNC as well. It can understand SNMP
(Simple Network Management Protocol) over TCP/IP. Hence it supports every
TNC with a TCP/IP firmware. And as we all know, a firmware with support
for TCP/IP can be made for every TNC. There you go...
I have to admit my toaster do not speak SNMP, but soon every device will
be connected to the network and probably be using SNMP. Perhaps one day
your toaster will send you an email saying:
Hey mate, your toast is way overdone.
I'll start a fire if you don't turn me off.
Unfortunately I'm malfunctioning so I can't turn myself off.
Cheers! You Toaster. (Let's make a toast).
By the way, a CC was sent to the insurance company.
Good luck in court! <grin>
:-)
73 de Bob.
