Kiss works as it is supposed to but not good to use kiss have never worked
good!
To use Flexnet with kiss doesn't work!
The reason is that kiss doesn't allow flexnet to control the radio which it
must be able to if it shall work as supposed. To use dama or the flexnet
routig protocol will be impossible. The timing and adaptive parameters will
not work at all.
The reason is that when using kiss is the channel access handled by the tnc,
without any control from the packet driver. Neither does the packet driver get
any information about ptt, dcd status etc. The tnc lives it's own life!
To use a protocol like that makes it impossible to make a good packet driver.
Packet driver using kiss will never work as good as packet driver in the
firmware of a tnc used via hostmode.
The point in letting the packet driver be handled by a computer is that better
packt drivers than a normal tnc can handle can be used.
But when using kiss will it not work better than for example a tf2.7b tnc2 in
ded host mode.
That flexnet with a kiss tnc works better than bpq, says more about bpq than
any thing else.
You must compare with flexnet and a 6pack tnc!
A well configured tf2.7b tnc in host mode would have worked better than
flexnet and a kiss tnc.
But the parameters is the problem you always get around when using flexnet.
