Hello dr Saku, OK1KH
These lines describe how I make a DOS pc with Flexnet and a Linux pc talking
AX25 to each other.
I do not use Win95 for networking, because Linux does this job much better.
The DOS pc is an old 386/25Mhz,2MB (1MB for RAMDRIVE),
floppy disk (no hard drive).
The pc contains a Baycom USCC-Card driven by PC-Flexnet and
a noname ethernet card.
The dos ethernet packet driver needs to be set in mode 6.
A baudrate setting for the bpqether port is not required.
This file loads the Flexnet drivers from dos.
@echo off
lh flexnet 40
if errorlevel 1 goto end
lh flexdigi
rem uscc card with Port address , Irq , number of radio Channels (ports)
lh uscc /p=0x210 /i=5 /c=4
rem ethernet packet driver
lh pnppd 0x65 10 0x300
rem bpqether
pktmode 0x65 6
lh ether /i=0x65 /a=ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
flex
:end
bct.exe
Note that BPQ ethernet driver ETHER.EXE for dos has to be used
not ETHER32.EXE for Win95. Their meaning is completely different.
The Linux box is a Pentium II with a WD8390 ethernet card.
Kernel version is 2.0.36 with ax25 support.
The modules wd , 8390 and bpqether are compiled as modules and loaded
with insmod.
# /etc/ax25/axports
#
flx DG4FDI-10 38400 256 7 to Flexnet Radio Front End
#
The next lines show how I open the bpq0 interface. The corresponding eth0
interface must be opened before bpq0 !
For TCP/IP I use mode VC with MTU 1015 and DG2FEF's experimental VJ
compression for TCP frames over AX25.
If you use mode data only, use mtu 256 ( or the ax25rtd deamon).
ifconfig bpq0 44.130.52.64 hw ax25 dg4fdi-10 mtu 1015 netmask 255.0.0.0
route add -net 44.0.0.0 netmask 255.0.0.0 bpq0
echo 0 > /proc/sys/net/ax25/bpq0/backoff_type
echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ax25/bpq0/ip_default_mode
echo 7 > /proc/sys/net/ax25/bpq0/standard_window_size
echo 60 > /proc/sys/net/ax25/bpq0/t1_timeout
echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ax25/bpq0/t2_timeout
echo 9000 > /proc/sys/net/ax25/bpq0/idle_timeout
