Hi !

I have seen not only emotional but also technical arguments why
FLEXNET is better than BPQ.

This indicates that there must be also persons that know something
about technical sides of both systems. I assume.

If so, would you please adwise me so that I also can try how FLEXNET
really works !

Until this day BPQ is the only program that I'm able to use. Simply
because it works.....

Let me explain first my system that is not so common:

    Ham Shack House
  --------------------- ---------------
    RADIO+TNC WIN95
    LINUX server BPQ
    handling:             ======10MBs LAN===== T4 terminal
    PACKET RADIO (node)
    FILE / PRINTER share
    ISP connection (modem)

Linux has BPQ support installed on LAN so BPQ can take connect to Linux
 node via LAN (BPQETHER).

How ever this needs additional lines to be added in NET.CFG at BPQ machine:

 BPQPARAMS
          ETH_ADDR FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF

When having two PC connected together with LAN and both having BPQETHER/DOS
installed connection works WITHOUT these lines.

How ever if other (or one of several packet-networked PCs) are running
Linux node with BPQ support those lines must be added to every setup before
 qso goes on.

 Now to the problem:

When running BPQ in PC that has only one network card, this card has to
be disabled from WIN95 configuration. Otherwise WIN95 network management
will run over preloaded (from autoexec) IPX/ODI disabling BPQETHER's work.

So every time I want to work packet with WIN95 I have to boot with 2nd
setup (net disabled) and every time I want other network services (file/
printer share) I must use 1st setup (no packet).

 There are 2 solutions:

      - Install 2 network cards to WIN95 PC. One for WIN other for BPQ
      - Use node that can share one network card (through winsockets)

I was thinking that FLEXNET could be this, but NO !

It simply does not communicate with Linux/bpq. Reason, I think, is that
I should put the "ETHERADDR FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF" somewhere in FLEX config.

BUT WHERE ??? I have tried several places, but no connect !

I would like to have more information about configuring and understanding
ETHER32.EXE. Unfortunately documents are near popular "Plug and Play"-level.

(means: "Why we should tell you about technical details. You can not
         understand them anyway...".)

At least in English. There is lot of text in German language that I can't
understand.

(Imagine that NOKIA would make all its GSMs with Finnish manual only and give
just an brief introduction in other laguages!)

There is also AXIP support on FLEXNET. How ever I could not find enough
documentation from Linux side to try this one.

Almost all in Linux is documented rather well (also in technical means).
The only problem is to find all releated DOCs, and guess the right keywords
for the problem. There are so much DOCs around CDs and WEB.

So, dear FLEXNET gurus, how can I get this IPX work ??? (or AXIP if you
have inforamtion to Linux side also!)

Until that day, BPQ is THE one.
