under development and that compatibility with KISS tnc's may come later,
as development continues.

I wouldn't hold your breath Ken!

As far as I can gather from replies to my FlexNet enquiries, the developement
team

think that the original KISS mode isn't "good enough" in that the adaptive
parameters derived from the traffic volume/conditions present on the frequency
cannot be applied to a KISS TNC because you can only set these parameters
when initialising the TNC..ie: you cannot change FRACK etc. "on the fly".This
is why they have not implemented a generic KISS TNC module. The team say that
SOME KISS TNC's will work with the KISS serial link module, but no guarantees!

And to think I bought a KPC-2 to replace my not so good BayCom modem..guess
which one FlexNet supports!!
But at the end of the day,BPQ + KISS TNC is much better than BPQ + DRIVERS +
BayCom.
And FlexNet + BayCom is NOT as good as BPQ + KISS TNC.Frames are missed on
RX,but you wouldn't know unless you've used a TNC before.

The above conclusions reached after much messing about with Sally + JNOS
1.11x3 running simultaneously under WFW3.11 on a P90 + 16Mb and on a 486
DX4-100 + 16Mb

Incidently,I've found that HA5DI's TFDIX and DIXPKT work absolutely flawlessly
with Sally and JNOS running simultaneously under Win95...unfortunately,the
DIXPKT module for connecting NOS up crashes WFW3.11 faster than anything
else I've ever played with!
He has a web site at:

www.qsl.net/ha5di/

Basically,he has rewritten TFPCX2.71 packet switch so that it can provide a
socket
for NOS.It also seems to use less memory than the original TFPCX,and is more
stable.Your TFPCX.INI file will not need altering.
You need to download all 3 modules..the 3rd one allows you to connect an
ethernet card to the packet switch as well.
The TFDIX module on it's own is stable with WFW3.11 and Win95,Sally runs very
well with it indeed.
It also supports YAM,USCC,BayCom,PAR96 as well as DF91c OSCC and KISS
TNC's of any make:-) and probably others that I've forgotten.

If anyone wants these progs,I can send with 7+,as they amount to a fraction
under
60Kb uncompressed,so say 30Kb zipped which makes 6 or 7 5Kb 7+ parts.
Alternatively,if your BBS archives stuff, look in the DIRAW TO: field.

This bulletin issued simply to help out..not to knock or support any particular
flavour of packet driver/switch!!!

What follows is just a Tagline....
