The packet driver and the quallity measurement mainly.

I have never doubted the stability of bpq!
The problem is the capabillity of the software.
Now a days are software that is as stable and much better packet drivers and
nodes avaliable.
But flexnet is very stable and probably are most other nodes that to.
That you cant get flexnet to work is probably caused by your configuration
of the computer.
Load flexnet in ms- or open-dos with out any thing else like mem managers etc
and you will find it very stable.
I use it with dr-opendos and the mem manager that comes with it and that works
just fine.

To reson like that isn't very good, but most hams probably do so.
The adaptive parameters of flexnet would have helped alot here, varying link
load and conditions wouldn't be any problem any more.
Also the parameters that probably isn't right set wouldn't be that either.
The net/rom overhead wouldn't make the connections even slower.

To replace bpq is the first step to make it possible.
Bpq has served well, but now is it time for a new generation of packet
software to enter the arena.

The net/rom protocoll used by bpq have been changed.
There is a new much better version which is not used by bpq, it is used by
thenetnode.
The Flexnet protocoll is still to prefer.
>And yes, the hams here are very conservative.
Yes indeed they are.

Flexnet for linux will come.
>My "make" was not working yesterday, will have to look at my compiler...
I can just wish you good luck.

That would be nice.
You probably first have to find a way to use BPQ for highspeed packet.
>But there seems to be no interest around here... :-(
That is sad but true.
