Hi World i see a lot of cries for help on here for using Baycom with BPQ....
its not to hard to do, in my expierience its a bit slow compared with a TNC
however its considerably cheaper ok so here is how.....
First you need what is called a driver, namely BPQAX25.EXE thats the one you
need, there is a certain amount of setting up to do, but i found if i run it
from a batch file the pc ran out of memory, so i put it in the root directory
ie C:\ and whenever i booted up i would type C:\BPQAX25 -cd -h600 -T25 There
is a bit of a help file with it the cd has something to do with baycom modems
the -h600 is the txdelay the default is to fast, another set up you can try
is BPQAX25 -i60 -I4 -B3fh -cd -T25 i think the B3fh and I4 are to do with
the comport you are using, you will have to configure your BPQCFG.TXT like
this....
PORT
ID=432.675 Mhz
UNPROTO=MAIL
TYPE=EXTERNAL
PROTOCOL=KISS
IOADDR=3F8H ;THIS IS
INTLEVEL=96 ;THE BAYCOM
SPEED=9600 ;SECTION.
CHANNEL=A
QUALITY=10
MAXFRAME=2
TXDELAY=500
SLOTTIME=100
PERSIST=64
FULLDUP=0
FRACK=7000
RESPTIME=3500
RETRIES=10
PACLEN=128
DIGIFLAG=1
ENDPORT
Then run bpqcfg.exe to confirm it...i would use bpq 4.08 personally....
if you cant get bpqax25 locally i have a copy, depending where you are
of course it could cost a lot for postage hi, i run 2 tnc's bpq node
and 2 ports, i use bpq/npfpms, i have all these programs if anyone gets
desperate, there is a way to run 2 baycom modems one on each port, if any
one wants any more info give me a shout, i cant promise to have all the
answers but i will do my best...
