Interesting thread. I just checked the radio's serial number: 2M680078 
and it seems that it was of production year 2002. (I suppose not 1992.) 
In that case (newer than 1998), and according to the explanation in your 
link, it shall be bi-diractional CAT. But it works partially. I also 
discovered few more funny things when using BPQ:

- After finishing a scanning cycle or some fwd session, it goes to a 
'parking' frq of 5.000.000 (in the display), but it is not actually 5MHz 
because if BPQ would start TX there, it returns an 'Error' in the 
display and no real TX occur. (And that's good because I have no ant for 
that frq, HI)

- But what's really bad is when times come for a next fwd session, the 
radio just 'jumps' to a frequency from the scheduled fwd script -even 
though there was already a connection in some other freq. I mean, it 
just go from the frequency being used at the moment, and goes to the 
other. Strange ...
