Hi bikers,

Yeah, I remember the good old days also. My first bike was a 1958 Lambretta,
not bad when it eventually fired up. Next came a 1959? 125 Bantam, pretty
good but no street cred. Next came a Villiers 250T built into an Ambassador
frame with clip on everything and rear- sets etc, when like the preverbal
stuff off a shovel once it got started, it was reputed to be the fastest 250
in the area, plenty of street cred hi. All those were in the mid sixties. I
then gave bikes up for a few years and in the late seventies I took my test
and bought a 750 Bonneville, BIG MISTAKE.
It was brand new and lived in the shop more than my shed. Eventually I got
Triumph to take it back and do a complete rebuilt on it, don't ask me for a
list of faults as the Sysops have enough to do hi. I got ri of that and
bought a GS850 shafty, nice bike, first real job I had to do on it was a cam
chain at 23,000 Mlles. I eventually put a child adult chair on it and it
still pulled a ton fully laden. Well time took it's toll and like many
others I succumbed to the call of the car. I now ride only for leisure in
the good weather, due to health problems I keep to a small scooter. I quite
like my little rice burner, you can keep the British stuff.
