Weather again perfect, but riders were warned of strong sun from
Quarterbridge to Ballacraine, and to watch out for sun flags all around
the course.

First off were Jim Moodie on his 750 Suzuki and Adrian Archibald on his
600, followed by John Hepburn on his 600 and Lightweights Russell Henley,
Anthony Shortland and Roger Smith.

Bob Jackson was out on the Summerfield Special he's taken over from Nick
Jefferies. Jim was first back by the proverbial mile (or more!) with a lap
at 118.28mph.
The two Adrians were next, Archibald at 114.02 and McFarland at 112.62.
Russell Henley on his 250 recorded 107.83mph and Bob Jackson had a lap at
101.81.
Before riders set off for the second part of the session they were warned
that there was a stationary yellow flag being shown at Ballagarey because
of MELTING TAR!!
Jim Moodie was again first away on his 250 with Paul Dedman next on his
600. Sandra Barnett was out on the Sanyo Honda and Marc Flynn took out his
F1 Honda. Simon Beck and Alan Bennallick opted for their Proddie machines.
In the F1 Class Marc Flynn lapped at 117.59mph, Michael Rutter at 116.15,
Joey Dunlop at 115.20 and Jason Griffiths at 115.18.
On the Proddie scene Alan Bennallick recorded 116.37, Adrian Archibald
116.09, Simon Beck 114.83 and Derek Young 113.68. On his 250 Jim Moodie
lapped at 115.77mph. The final part of the 1997 practice week saw the
Sidecars out.
Fastest lap was set by Vince and Graham Biggs at 107.32 mph whilst Rob
Fisher and Rick Long lapped at 106.92. Incidents re-ported this evening:-
31 Lightweight "Bud" Jackson came off at Brandish, he was taken to Nobles
Hospital for a check-up. Junior 72 Steve Clegg came off at Brandish and is
O.K. whilst Russell Henley, 25 Lightweight had a slight incident at
Hillberry but is O.K. This
evening 268 solos and 38 sidecars were examined, giving a total for the
week of 2052 - 1664 solos and 388 sidecars.

So that’s practice over for the 90th Anniversary T.T. Meeting. Final
Practice Leaderboards will be available in the Press Office from 10 a.m.
tomorrow morning, and racing gets under way at 2 p.m. with the six lap
T.T. Formula 1 Race followed by the three lap Sidecar "A".
