BULLETIN No. 4 - WEDNESDAY MAY 28th A.M.

It was Production machines that led the way, 5 Derek Young, 34 Sandra
Barnett, 26 Jim Hodson, and Nick Jefferies with Allan McDonald the first
of the Formula 1's away. It was Jim Hodson first back today and it was
short circuit stuff as the first batch of four crossed the line in a
group, followed by another four in close company including Jim Moodie who
was really trying. Hodsons lap was recorded at 112.62mph and other Proddy
speeds were Nick Jefferies 112.61, Michael Rutter 111.81 and Derek Young
111.57. In the Formula 1 David Goodley lapped at 117.74, Simon Beck at
117.52, lan Simpson at 113.74 and Marc Flynn at 111.81 mph. Jim Moodie,
after a lap at 115.44mph posted the first 120 plus of the year on his
flying lap on the NSR500 - 120.16mph. Other flying laps were 115.42 by
Derek Young, 116.44 by Jim Hodson, 116.18 by Nick Jefferies and Jason
Griffiths at 113.46mph. Simon Beck on his second lap did 119.51 mph from a
standing start and a slowing lap. Local rider Richard Coates on his 250
was again first away in the second part alongside 125 rider Denis
McCullough with Chris Richardson (1 25), Mark Watts (250) and Adrian
McFarland (600) next. Early times from this session included Juniors Jim
Moodie at 114.87, Nick Jefferies at 113.78 and Jim Hodson at 113.75. In
the Ultra-Lightweights Ian Lougher recorded 107.68mph and Denis McCullough
107.13mph. Further news from Scrutineering - last night 259 solos
went through and 66 Sidecars and this morning there were 166 solo machines
examined. Incidents reported this morning:- 7 Junior Nick Jefferies came
off at Greeba Castle, taken to hospital with possible minor injuries and
57 Junior John Read came off at Ballaugh Bridge and has a minor hand
injury. Practicing continues this evening with the smaller classes out
first, then the F1, Production and Junior with the Sidecars out last.
