Hi Pete,Warren and anyone still interested.

As part of my message to Pete on Skype I did mention that, back in those
days, I weighed 140 LBs and was 6' 2" and vere pale.
I emailed Pete a pic from 8 years ago when I was still 140 LBS with a 28"
waist (I've still got those trousers). I live in hope.

The last pic you will have had of me, I weighed about 85 Lbs more !
I see why you would be surprised. I have managed to lose abt 45 Lbs since
then but am still too fat for that gear.

On a nother topic. It has been fascinating listening to all the makes and
models of rigs you used. All totally unheard of to me.

Of the (American) rigs we had, the smallest would be the Colt 210, 40 ch
AM only and the biggest and best went under the President name. The best
thing about them was the way they resisted 'Bleed Over' some were better
than 10m Ham rigs. My favourite was the President Grant 22W erp SSB on a
16V supply.
I used it withe a compander mic called the Turner M+3B, It got me all over
Europe and even into Australia.

Another, fun rig was the Stag 357, 40ch AM and SSB, very resistant to co -
channel interference but, it's trick was a skeleton preset near the back
of the board which would turn it's pwr up on SSB only, anything from 60 -
120W
I think it was ment to do it as it's o/p transistors were much larger
thawn normal. Nothing about it in the manual so a few of us kept it to
ourselves.

NB what makes you think I went home alone ?

I thought we had worn the topic out but that should finish it off.
