9th,10th and 11th Nov.

144: VK6WG reported hearing 144 beacons from VK5 - he has a considerable
advantage over me in altitude and generally hears VHF DX before I do.
He is situated about 3 km west of me on the side of Mt Melville

0900Z	144.568 VK6REP	439 (Esperance - 500 m east of here)

12/11/03
1100Z	144.??*	CW	VK5RSE	Mt Gambier 579 (distance approx 2800km)
1100Z	144.100	SSB	VK3II	Melbourne 43 (distance app. 3200km)
1100Z	144.100	SSB	VK5DK	Mt Gambier 57
1100Z	144.100	SSB	VK5ACY	Kangaroo Island (approx. 2900km)
1100Z	144.100	SSB	VK5NY	?

VK6WG worked the VK5 stations on 432.100 also. I could hear some but no
well enough for a contact. CW would have been OK. VK6WG also heard the
432.536 beacon in Ballarat at good strength.Distance about 3200 km)

Temperature in Albany today rose to 39C (101F) through a high in the
Bight, classic conditions for VHF DX across the Great Australian Bight.

Bob VK6BE.

* Listening on a Yaesu FT221R which has no accurate readout. Marker gives
me 144.100 which is the DX frequency.
