Thanks for reading this.
I have picked up a Shinwa 10 watt UHF mobile radio #SC410Y, currently running
between 450Mhz and 470Mhz and a Shinwa 25 watt VHF mobile #SC525YB running between
150 Mhz and 170Mhz.
The control panel on each radio is identical.
Top left corner is a power push button with an 8 way RJ speaker mic connector below
it. (This is behind a big rubber grommet attatched to the mic cord)
Next to the left of the display are up and down push buttons for volume control.
The display shows channel numbers on the right and what i beleive to be selcal tone
numbers to the left.
Below the dispay are butons for tone, antenna, sound, return, right arrow.
On the right hand side is a keypad 1 - 9 with * 0 # across the bottom.
Pressing * brings up set node on the display. By then pressing the return button
then either 0,1,2 or 3 brings up sc-0,1,2 or 3 on the display. The # button will
then return the display to channel number and tone numbers.
This appears to be different scan options.
The tone button will only transmit the selcal if the sound icon is displayed above
the sound button.
A single press of the return button and the display reads scan. Press return again
to stop scanning.
I haven't been able to find any information on these radios. They are eeprom
programmable with probable bands of 16 channels. There is room on the main circuit
board for an auxillary eeprom. There is also a 256kb eprom that is for radio
identification (not for channel programming).
The display will indicate out of lock, presumably when the VCO is out of lock.
I am after any information re programming, tunning etc.
Many thanks Tony VK3CAT
