BPL puts VK7 ham off air
------------------------
Power utility Aurora Energy which began its second BPL trial in Tasmania
late last month was immediately hit with a claim of causing harmful
interference to an amateur radio station.
Aurora Energy notified the ACMA of its intention use frequencies from
3MHz to 34MHz as part of a BPL commercial trial involving homes in the
Mt Nelson and Newtown areas.
Conrad Kley VK7HCK has complained to the ACMA after experiencing constant
over signal strength-9 interference on the HF bands preventing him from
operating.
Ballarat in Victoria may also have a BPL trial in the future, but the
company involved Fortress Networks won't say when, except that it's not
going to happen soon.
