I think there was a half crown coin back in the 1920s but I cannot be
sure. I know there cerainly was a crown (or silver "dollar") later than
that but it seems some people broke their thumbs playing "heads or tails"
and they did not last long! Just joking! The nickname for the crown was a
cartwheel because of their size. Certainly the half crown disappeared long
before decimal coinage came in here and there was never an equivalent in
decimal coinage.
