A couple of comments from Dick I just can't help myself with ;0)

It's going back a bit Dick but I'm pretty sure the Platypus is classed a
"Monotreme" or something similar, an egg laying marsupial, there being one
other from memory, perhaps the Echidna? (Think of a Hedgehog on steroids)
