Looks like Warren KBVXA and Mark VK3JMA are doing their best to educate
each other as to word usage.
I have to side with Warren on this one as to the word "opps".
That's a new one on me as I have never heard or seen it before.
Mark provides some examples;

I suppose one could also use the term "oh oh"? "

The second example I do understand.
I also suggest that Mark would have been more correct had he used the more
widely recognised expression or exclamation " oops !" rather than "opps".
Yes! "opps" does look like a spelling mistake to me also.
As to "colours" or "colors" ;
The first is the usual "English" spelling and the second is more common as
being "US English" spelling.
However, both forms are fairly well recognised these days as being pretty
well interchangeable.
There are certainly some interesting examples for comparison where English
spelling as per the U.K and USA are concerned.
It sometimes seems that US English tends towards simplification, although
I find that in some circumstances I almost recoil from instances of US
terminology.
One of the first type is where WE write "aeroplane" and the US term
applied is "airplane".
(One can build up a good discussion on that particular form and the
various other derivatives.)
One of my major dislikes is the incorrect US application of "alternate"
where the word "alternative" should be used.
There is certainly no doubt in my mind that the word "alternate" means
something like "every other".
(A good example here is the description of our main source of electrical
power as being "AC" i.e. "alternating current".)
I have to wonder where I would finish up if, when driving towards the
city, I took every "alternate" route ??
We certainly have fun with our continually developing "English" language,
don't we?
