Hello to all….
….A Strong Cold Front will approach the region this afternoon and evening bringing the potential threat of severe weather with
pockets of damaging winds and large hail the primary threats….
….SKYWARN Activation with Ops at NWS Taunton possible anytime after 2 PM today though the severe weather threat maybe later thi
s evening after 5 or 6 PM depending on the timing of the cold front….
It will be a warm and somewhat more humid day across Southern New England though not nearly as bad as previous hot and humid da
ys across the region with temperatures in the 80’s and dewpoints in the low to mid 60’s. A Strong cold front will approach Sout
hern New England later this afternoon and evening. Instability parameters are not nearly as powerful as past events with dewpoi
nts only in the lower to middle 60’s but strong convergance and dynamics with the cold front may compensate for the lower insta
bility parameters to set the stage for strong to severe thunderstorm development. This development could occur as early as 2-3
PM across Southwest New Hampshire and spreading through the rest of the region after 5-6 PM. Its also possible that the timefra
me could be somewhat later between about 7 PM-12 AM. The timing of the front may also impact the severe threat. Damaging winds
and large hail would be the primary threats and the threat should be better understood as we get into the late morning and earl
y afternoon hours.
SKYWARN Activation with Ops at NWS Taunton is possible anytime after 2 PM today. Again, the timing could be a bit later towards
the 5-6 PM timeframe depending on the timing of the cold front. Below is the NWS Taunton Hazardous Weather Outlook:
Respectfully Submitted,
Robert Macedo (KD1CY)
