A useful feature of Publisher is the ability to compile a list of
fonts used in the current document. Useful that is, if like me you
frequently print out work on a different machine to that which you
create it.

Trying to use this feature today, produced the error "Unable to create
font list. The first master page must be blank"

Well even though the first master page WAS blank, it wouldn't work. I
had to use an original !default document in the auto directory and all
was well.

The moral?
Keep a copy of the original default document safe.

If you've altered the default document, say to create additional
master pages, see if Compile font list works. If it doesn't replace
the existing default document in the auto directory with the original.
