I wouldn't announce that demise just yet. The problem is unidentified
packages. Alerting law enforcement to the location(s), and identifying
marks, *should* avoid unnecessary security measures. That or get good
about hiding in plain sight, not using visual or audible status indicators.

findU also has a page for this great event.

http://b2v.findu.com

The findU page features a zoomable map followed by a table of the teams,
sorted by their location on the course.

The findU tracking page has been updated as well, this site includes
a table of all the tracked teams sorted by their position on the course.

Have fun!

I use a UT-41 with IGuidance and it works fine.
It has a serial driver program to let it work with "serial programs"
Not sure it will work with your app.

And I prefer 10m simplex. But... :)

One of the really nice features of the D700 is the ability to prevent
packet transmission when either side of the radio is receiving. So
if you're right side is on, say, 146.52, and your left side is doing
APRS, it won't transmit when you are listening to a station on 146.52
- if things are set up "right". Pretty useful IMHO.

That might not be good enough in Boston - they blew up one of their own
traffic counters.
