Bob, look closely at the city code. In the wake of ARRL efforts to
deregulate Amateur Antennas, many city codes have a loophole that exempts
Antennas from height restrictions. If the tower or Supporting structure
can be loaded as a radiator, it Can easily be argued that towers are then
exempt from The restrictions. Simply base load your tower for 80m. Of
course, guys then must be properly insulated. Where I live, antennas have
no requirement for a building permit, So you put the tower up quickly then
demonstrate that it's Also an antenna. It might be as simple as insulating
the Base plate and putting up a sign warning that the tower Could be "hot".

Bob,
for "Solar AMPS" and "Win AMPS" - is that instantaneous amperage or
cumulative amp-hours, If the latter over what period of time?
>Ch1 - System volts
>Ch2 - Wind AMPS
>Ch3 - Solar Amps
>ch4 - user defined (maybe inddor temp)
>Ch5 - User defined (maybe outdoor temp)?

I have finished most of the install of the computer-based mobile APRS

Subject: RE: [aprssig] Help with Interfacing a GPS to Kantronics KPC-3
Hello All,
Well I got the GPS receiver to talk to the KPC-3 TNC. The problem was
simple to solve. Earl,KD5XB, mentioned two DTE (modems) need to have the
Tx and Rx swapped.
That suggestion fixed the issue.
Thanks to everyone who responded with help and/or suggestions.

Wow,
An impressive mobile layout to be sure!
I like that orange AC extension cord spool in the trunk too. I modified
mine to hold over 100' of #18 zip cord instead of the 25 feet of heavy
plastic #18 extension cord. It is used for 2-wire applictions such as
laptops that don't have a 3rd wire ground, etc... I put one of those
end-plug GFI's on the end to keep it safe. Bob

Subject: [aprssig] Is my PIC-E transmitting incorrect LAT tracking data
Hello,
Is my TAPR PIC-E is transmitting incorrect LAT data. My location is
34.xxxxN, 120.xxxxW which is in grid CM94.
The PIC-E is transmitting the following LAT data: 3xxxxx. Shouldn't it
be sending Sxxxxx for a LAT? The APRS spec is a bit confusing but I
think I can manualy decode MIC-E APRS packets correctly.
The MIN and SEC data appears to be correct, it is just the LAT Deg data
that seems to be in question. Doesn't the 3xxxxx decode put me in the
southern hemisphere?
Thanks,
John
