I have a Kantronics KPC-3 with the version 6.0 firmware. Based on my
brief perusal of the Kantronics web site, it appears that they are no
longer selling upgrade ROMs for this TNC.
Is it possible to use this TNC as a standalone (no computer attached)
APRS digi on 2m? If so, any suggestions for how to configure it?
If it's not usable as-is, anybody know of a source for version 8.2 ROMs?

It could be used as a "home fill-in" digi that responds to WIDE1-1.

Hello everyone,
We had a mobile pass through our area, using the above path. I didnt get a
chance to get a message to them nor was there an email address on QRZ.com.
But I thought I would share the success they had in using the path
according to findu.com. The route taken was near VA/TN border down into
Texas.
This information is only to show digipeaters and stations that responded to
the outdated RELAY and WIDE. I know several of the digi owners personally
and I know there are plans in the works to get them updated. All of the
stations below responded to either RELAY and/or WIDE. Hope this information
helps in some way.
