Whew ! Yesterday after I got to work, I showed up in the ocean near
Malaysia ! And...And, my status was one of the Custom ones... I checked
all my prefs in the evening in the 'ole D700 and all was well. I figured,
perhaps a reset was in order, but today, I made it to work just fine. To
bad travel isn't that easy in reality (:-).

Twilight Zones-ville.

Looked like the West lon. got changed to E and the N42 changed to -.016.

Seems like there were a few others with mangled lat & lon somewhere in
between their origins and APRSIS that got sent out in the same area.. I
saw an VE near me with a path through a digi in Canada.

All seriousness asside... is this an occassional event?

A similar thing happened to me some time back. I didn't understand why I
was suddenly looking at a worldwide map until I saw a single dot off in the
pacific. Lon was 1.0 and lat 0.1 or something similar. Anyone out there
have any explanations?

You are both sending Mic-E beacons and passed probably through an IGATE
corrupting Mic-E.

Subject: [aprssig] APRSTV Episode 4 - Where's JJ

I finally got the 4th episode of APRSTV uploaded. You can view it at
www.aprstv.com. This episode features an interview with JJ Sheppard,
KI4FQE, as he travels across the United States using APRS, EchoLink and his
Internet Blog to keep in touch. Google video probably will not be
available until next week, so you will need Quicktime version 7 to watch.

Are you using the RSS feed for APRSTV? Well it looks like RapidFeeds.com
isn't working anymore. I hope they return, or get their website fixed, but
for now the RSS feed is not working. I'll either find another site that
works like RapidFeeds.com or I'll have to write my own feeds. The iTunes
feed is still working.

I still need ideas for future episodes. Email me and let me know what you
are doing with APRS.

Is anyone running this software to their TNC?
I can not get it to talk to my MFJ-1270C.
I believe it is my Belkin USB < > Serial adaptor not allowing the
connection, but it used to work just fine under OS 9. Anyone with any
comments (useful; I've heard all the BS about Belkin stuff, but I own LOADS
of it, and it all works for ME) or suggestions.

At the risk of belaboring what should be obvious, it ISN'T working for YOU
or you would not have posted the note. The core of most of the objections
to the Belkin USB/serial devices is their erratic nature, working in some
contexts and not in others.

My guidance to anyone who will listen is to use Keyspan USB/serial
adapters. They seem to have the least list of conflicts ( I have two of
them I use regularly on OSX and Winders machines) And in general I
recommend any FTDI chip based USB/serial device.

I have used the Keyspan, the iConcepts, and a Parallax (the Basic Stamp
people) marketed FTDI based USB/Serial all under OSX from Jaguar through
the latest and greatest versions of Tiger, with MacTNC no problem. You
might also want to give Zterm (classic old terminal program, there is an X
version now) a try and see if its the adapter or the program.
