Has anybody converted a glass mount cell phone antenna for use on 144 MHz? I
have tried several variations of tuned circuits in the 'tuner box' but nothing
even approaches a workable solution. I almost feel that the capacitive
'footprint' of the UHF antenna may be too small for 144 MHz for a decent 'pick
up'?

My test setup is using ordinary plate glass from a garden mini green house
(cloche). I'm well aware of 'passivated' and other metalized tinted glass, but
I'm not using it on the wind screen yet to find out if I'm indeed, wasting my
time!!

I did trawl the 'net, but really didn't come up with anything about 2 meter
glass mount antenna circuits or mechanical construction.
