This is a fundraising auction for Eagle, AMSAT-NA's next satellite.
Eagle will provide hemisphere-wide communications via amateur
satellite utilizing both familiar modes and new microwave and digital
techniques. Information on Eagle can be found at:

The item for auction is a prototype of the mounts used to hold AMSAT
Phase 3D, a.k.a. AO-40, to the Specific Bearing Structure (SBS) and
the Ariane 502 rocket. Four of these prototypes were discovered while
relocating the Orlando AMSAT lab after Hurricane Charlie and will be
offered in exchange for donations to AMSAT Eagle. Please show your
support for AMSAT Eagle by bidding on this auction, and perhaps this
great piece of AMSAT memorabilia can be yours.
