Hi Andy
I have every version of WinPack since v5.53.
In one respect the older versions of WinPack were larger. One in particular is
that the 7Plus program by Axel was part of the installation.
Roger then wrote just one file G4IDE7PL.DLL which resided in windows/system
and did the decoding which no doubt is on your computer.
With the first changeover Roger included not only the version of 7Plus by Axel
BUT also his own G4IDE7PL.DLL file.
At the time it was very confusing but useful if one still had to do a manual
decode using 7Plus by Axel. I myself did so on many occasions.
The basic .DLL files have never changed, VBRUN300.DLL has always been the
largest.
As most of the system .DLL files are already in one's Windows/System file such
as Three.vbx and CTL3D.DLL, CMDialog.vbx, VBrun300.DLL and a few more, WinPack
by itself without the MS files is comparatively small.
See the size of VBRUN300.DLL, over 900k.
