The first signs of the Es season opening in VK6 today with VK6BJ working
very short skip within the state. This station was heard working a series
of VK6 stations on very short skip (probably Perth judging from the number
he worked). He was only about S3 here where the skip was a little longer
at about 600 km as the duck flies.

LOG:
1300 WADST VK6BJ	53 SSB. Lasted about half an hour.

I will be scanning every day from now on and watching 144 also. Another
season like the last one would be very welcome here where we don't get the
openings as frequently as the Eastern States operators do. I wonder why?
Maybe because in the Eastern States there are plenty of operators north
and south. Here I have very little to the north of me (Perth is too close)
and I depend mainly on East West propagation for my contacts.

Cheers,
Bob VK6BE.
