Hi Bob and readers,
This may be a wide departure from 6M propagation but at least I used the
British spelling. (;->)
I wasn't talking about 2M nor Australia in 1960, I was talking about a
railroad (160MHz) FM frequency in 2005. There's quite a difference when
one claims to hear a track side defect detector only intended to be heard
by the engineer as he's passing at a distance of 5,000 miles. If you had
been reading the outlandish claims of this railfan (who happens to be
from NJ, hi) on a particular Internet forum you'd be ROTFLOL too and not
trying to out distance me on packet as usual.
No, my VHF adventures cover more ground than here to Lakehurst on AX25
packet and I have the QSLs to prove it. Well, I do enjoy picking holes
and picking on you in particular so you're right about that at least. Oh
I can tell you're waiting with baited breath, sardines in fact, I can
smell it from here. Frankly I'd rather kiss a seagul so please, go brush
your teeth and use a bit of mouth wash before sending your reply.
Uh oh, sorry about the bad grammar, even the engineer wouldn't hear the
detector at a distance of 5,000 miles but you get the idea. (;->) BTW,
give my regards to the Australia Railroad Group, they have such a lovely
black V stripe on orange paint scheme and that camel logo on the Gahn is
appropriate. Want a picture of Steve Irwin waving from the cab of NR
No75, "The Crocodile Hunter"?
Tracks ahead and notch it up, may all your blocks be clear.
