That is the biggest load of garbage I ever read anywhere, and shows quite
plainly that the writer knows little or nothing about six metres. It is
not called the Magic Band for nothing.
I have operated on Six for just on 50 years and I still operate it. For a
feller that is not a very patient man it must have something or I would
not still be working it.
It has a charm that no other band has. You scan and listen day after day
and are just about to give it away when Whoops! It opens and you get stuck
into it. For 15 minutes he says. Rubbish! He wouldn't know! He is in a
country with big populations to the north and south and all round him and
Europe within striking distance. We have lots of nothing round us.
One thing that night make it difficult for some operators is that for
serious operation on any VHF band including Six morse code is a necessity.
It outperforms any other mode.
The last three years have been pretty poor here in my location on Six but
I know from the log of Murray in ZL that over there the DX has been
rolling in including contacts with the USA. I seem to have a set of poor
conditions at present but it is not always like that.
Oh and Jim has TVI on SIx?? Well he should fix his gear. Maybe he couldn't
find Six on his TX and came out on a TV channel?? He would not be the
first.
I have never in 50 years had TVI on Six and all that time I have had
neighbours in close proximity. The worst I did was get into a neighbour's
cheap and nasty transistorised HI FI in the days when transistorised HIFI
was a new and exciting thing! We fixed that by cooperation.
Listen on 28 for activity on Six? Cut it out Jim, in times of low sunspot
activity we don't get 28 here. You will find more activity on Six than on
28 in my state at least..
Bob VK6BE.
See you on Six, the Magic Band.
QUOTE FROM JIM FOLLOWS. Heavily snipped to save the sanity of the serious
Six metre addict.

There is something tragic, Jim, but it is not on Six metres!!!
