General information.
Denmark, OZ. EDR Vestfyn branch will participate in the anual VHF Field
day, from July 3rd. 14:00 UT to July 4th. 14:00 UT, using the call
OZ5VF from JO55CE near Faaborg at the Island of Fyn (EU-172). Our spot
QRG's will be round (+/-QRM) 50.173 MHz, 144.173 MHz or 144.273 MHz and
432.173 MHz. Hpe cu de OZ5VF EDR Vestfyn branch.
St. Paul Isl., CY9. (Update) Arliss, W7XU, says, "Weather permitting,
we will be active from CY9 beginning late in the day on 29 June, and
will be operational through 7 July. The only 6m frequency we will trans
mit on will be 50.157. We will always listen up 5 kHz. There will be
someone at the radio from 1000 to 0300 UTC daily, and we will listen
for Europeans particularly around 1200 UTC and from 1800 to 2000 UTC."
Ed, W0SD, reports "We got authorization for the special call sign CY9DH
for the DX-pedition. That will be the only call used on all bands HF

Marshall Isl. V7. Hiro, JF1OCQ and Tsutomu, JA1VND plan to operate (on
80-6 metres SSB, CW, RTTY and Satellite) as V73XX and V73AA respective-
ly from Majuro, Marshall Islands on 2-10 July. Look for them on 50115
kHz. QSL via home calls either direct or through the JARL bureau. (QSP

Italy, I. A QSP from Thomas HB9DRM, says; IK7/HB9DNX – JM99DT. I
will be active from that quite rare QTH-Locator from 8th of July until
7th of August 2002. Activity will focus on 6 Meters both in CW (50.100
+/- 5) and SSB (50.140 +/- 10), mainly in the morning and afternoon and
occasionally also in the evening. QSL via homecall. Vy 73s de HB9DNX.
Swalbard, JW. Tom, LA4LN, informs OPDX that he will again be operating
as JW4LN from Spitsbergen and Bear Island, July 6-21st, while on work.
The Bear Island operation is planned to take place July 9-16th, landing
weather permitting! He will be on the radio mainly in the evenings (lo-
cal time) and when time permits. Check the lower CW portions, especial-
ly the 40, 30, and 20 meter bands (or other bands which may be open);
and 6 meters (50150 kHz, +/- 15 kHz). Equipment will be an ICOM IC-706
MkII and mainly wire antennas. PSK-31 and RTTY are possible, but not
from Bear Island. While on Bear Island a 60 Ah battery and a gasoline

Virgin Isl. KP2. W4OV, Bruce; WD4JR, Julio; NP2B, John and VE3BW, Joe,
will be in the CQWW phone contest together under the NP2B callsign. Ar-
riving October 22, they plan to spend time on the WARC bands and 6M be-
fore the contest. They will use their own callsigns stroke NP2. On 6M,
