General information.
Samoa, 5W. Bill, W7TVF will be active from Samoa between 20 November
and 10 December. The call is not known yet. Operation will be on all
bands from 160 to 6 metres and the mode will be mostly CW. Special at-
tention will be given to Europe and Africa on the low bands during fa-
vorable grayline. Further information, including on-line log serach,

Costa Rica, TI. Phil, N0KE, will be going to Costa Rica from October 26
until after the Thanksgiving weekend. He will be QRV during both the CQ
WW SSB and CW Contests as TI5X. At other times Phil will be on as TI5/
N0KE or TI8/N0KE on HF and 6 meters. QSL via N0KE. (The Daily DX #209

Galapagos Isl., HC8. Jon N0JK, writes; Rich, N6KT is currently opera-
ting at the HC8N station as HC8A. He was spotted on 6M at 0418 Oct 24
utc by KH6SX. Rich is busy preparing for the CQ WW SSB contest this
weekend, but may operate on 6M as time permits. QSL HC8A via KU9C. -

Laos, XW. Hiro, JA2EZD, has a new 24-meter high tower and Kenwood TL-
922 amplifier at his office station in downtown Vientiane, Laos. He
plans to use this very soon on the low bands. Hiro is QRV as XW0X cur-
rently on 6, 10, 15, 20 and 40 meters. He hopes to be on the WARC bands
very soon. JA7MYQ has donated a RTTY system. QSL via Hiroo Yonezuka,

QSL info. Dana VE3DSS, writes; QSL information for VY0AAA is the fol-
lowing: For anyone who worked VY0AAA on 50 MHz you can obtain cards
from the station owner/operator Ray Perrin VE3FN. Ray lives in Ottawa
and travels to Iqaluit periodically. Ray advises that he has received
cards from the printer and will respond to any QSL requests sent to

abt. 10 days due to a power supply fault. The antenna is a 1/2 vertical

the name of LABRE/SP, to participate during the days 3 and 4 of novem-
ber, 2001, saturday and sunday, in IV Brazilian VHF/UHF DX Contest *
CBVU * Are the info: Period: From 0000 UTC of november, 03, 2001 to
2400 UTC november, 04, 2001. Bands: 6 meters (50 MHz), 2 meters (144
MHz), 70 Cm. (440 MHz). Modes: CW, SSB, FM. QSO: RS(T) + WWL (complete
with 6 digits). Points: 1 point to each QSO in 6 meters; 2 points to
each QSO in 2 meters; 3 points to each QSO in 70 centimeters; QSOs in
FM multiply by 1; QSOs in SSB ou CW multiply by 2. Multipliers: The
different Sq. (the 4 firsts digits of locator) per band and modes.
Your station square counts only once. Final score: Points multiplier
by the multipliers. Categories: All categories have no regulatory li-
mitations on the use of competitive modes and power levels, being al-

Greenland, OX. At the EDR VHF commetee meeting this afternon I spoke
with one of the XP1AB guys (OZ1FTU), he told that they will only be QRV
at 50 MHz from the 26 th. to the 29 th. or in best case untill the 30
th. as the guy bringing the 50 MHz equipment is joining in the 26 th.
This station will not be manned at all times, but will in absence RX
at 50.110 ! The rest of the group will maily put their effort into
establishing the station for the CQWW contest. 73 Matt OZ6OM
Antigua, V2. Team Antigua will participate in the CQ WW DX SSB Contest
as V26B (Multi-Multi). A large group of operators will be active (espe-
cially on RTTY, PSK31, 160 metres, the WARC bands and possibly 6 met-
res) with individual calls starting around 22 October until around 4

Eritrea, E3. (Update) Wolfgang DJ3TF, writes; Another DXpedition of the
Bavarian Contest Club (BCC) http://www.Bavarian-Contest-Club.de with
DL5NAM, OE2VEL, DJ7EO and DK7YY starts now. Main-activity is planned
for the CQWWDX, but they will be on Six again. There is no operator
especially for Six, but they will call CQ from time to time. The SIX-
communtiy is asked to look for the HF-cluster-spots to find them on
shortwave and to inform the crew about possible band-openings. There
will be no activity before Oct 18! Expected start on Saturday or Sun-
day, Oct 20/21. PSE QRX for online logs - all data will be transfered
to the Webserver as quick as possible. More details available on the

East Timor, 4W. Carlos, CU3FT, has arrived in East-Timor and is expec-
ted to sign 4W/CU3FT. His activity is due to start as soon as possible
No QSOs have been reported as of writing this. Look for him to be ac-
tive on all bands especially the WARC bands and 6 meters. QSL via

Bonaire, PJ4. Hi Sixmeter friends, Peter, PA3CNX will go to Bonaire
(PJ4) from November 5th till November 30th. He will be active on 50.110
