Editorial. As the editor has been down with a bad cold, this issue of
the OZ50MHz DX Bulletin is delayed a couple of days. I regret this in-

Agalega, 3B6. Update/reminder. The 3B6RF DXpedition to Agalega is ex-
pected to start a couple of days earlier than planned. The team will
fly to Agalega on 2 May and should be on the air by the 3 rd. All-band
all-mode operations will end on 16 May. QSL via HB9AGH (Ambrosi
Fleutsch, Lerchenweg 29, CH 8046 Zurich, Switzerland); QSL for North
America (USA, Canada and Mexico) stations only via N3SL (Steve Larson,
22 N. Hidden Acres Drive, Sioux City, Iowa 51108, USA). Latest infor-

Guinea-Bissau, J5X. DJ6SI and others will activate the call J5X from
1.8 MHz to 50 MHz in SSB, CW, RTTY, FSK, SSTV. They will be active from
27 th of April until 11 th of May 2001. QSL CW/SSB to DJ6SI QSL RTTY,
FSK, SSTV to DL1QW (N0JK 4/26) (QSP de SMIRK)
Svalbard, JW. Prins Karls Forland Island, JW0PK A large multi-national
group of Amateur Radio operators will be QRV from Prins Karls Forland
Island from June 1 to 9. The island is located at 78ø26'45" North 11ø
52'05" East and counts as Svalbard for DXCC purposes. The group will be
QRV as JW0PK on 2 through 160 meters CW, SSB, RTTY, PSK31 and FM. Ope-
rators include Christoph, DL5NAM; Aleksei, ES1CH; Claude, F5PBL; Angelo
I2ADN; Andrea, IK2XDE; Giampaoalo, IK2XDF; Dario, IK4MED; Terje, LA3OHA
/JW3OHA; Egil, LA8AV/JW8AV; Marc, ON4AMX; Aleksandra, S57FYL; Atila,
S53AC; Jacek, SP5DRH; Witold, SP5LCC, Igor, US0VA; and Hector, XE1BEF.
Suggested frequencies are as follows: SSB - 50.145 CW - 50.095. The team
is looking for support, which can be sent to DXPEDITION ORG.,P.O. Box

United Kingdom, G. A new low-power transmitter for the GB3SIX Isle of
Anglesey 6m beacon has been completed, and is likely to be switched on
for controlled tests very soon. The beacon will TX on 50.020 MHZ, and
it's operation is likely to be sporadic until TX tests are complete.
More details will be released in due course. We are looking for a ver-
tical aerial for the beacon, and until we find one, the temporary ae-

Israel, 4X. Beacon callsign change. Yacov, 4Z5AY, informs use that the
4Z5AY 6 meter beacon located in Tel-Aviv has a new callsign. Look for
4X4SIX to be active on 50.080.20 MHz. More details are available at the

Fenando de Noronha, PY0F. Dennis, K7BV, k7bv@aol.com will operate from
Fernando de Noronha, May 24th through June 1st. He will sign with a
special callsign throughout the DXpedition. Dennis will be active in
the CQ WPX CW Contest, most likely entering as a SOABHP category. After
the contest he will be very active on all bands 160-6 meters, generally
on CW. Rod, WC7N, wc7n@gb.wave.net will serve as Pilot Station, assist-
ing Dennis, helping 9BDXCC chasers fill empty bands. Logs will be posted
on web site: http://www.qth.com/k7bv/PY0F This web site is expected to
be launched sometime this week with details of the DXpedition. Steve,
KU9C, will handle QSL chores. (QSP de OPDX #508)
Chad, TT8. Look for Eric, F5JKK, to be active starting the 2 nd or 3 rd
week of May. He has asked for the callsign TT8JE again. Eric prefers 6
meters using and FT 847 w/100 watts (maybe more!) into a 5 element Yagi
antenna. He states to listen for his CQ on 50.110 kHz and will begin
listening on 50.200 MHz (5 to 10 up). His operations will be mainly CW,
but there will be some SSB if conditions are good. Eric will be running
a beacon using 25 watts on 50.096 kHz. The beacon will send: VVVVV DE
TT8JE JK72MC - (5'') and break (5''). IMPORTANT ! Eric reports that he
worked many stations in 1998, however, in 2001, he states, "NO dupe or
I'll cancel old QSO. Listening carefully on my frequency, don't loose
time for you and all others (Sample: When I say Alpha Bravo NO others
like Alpha Kilo...). Education and courtesy, no need to say more." Eric
will be on HF using the same radio but with a R7000, dipoles and loop
antennas. His modes of operation will be RTTY/PSK31 and will try SSTV
and CW. He suggests to look for him on the WARC bands and especially

Honduras, HR. Wolf, HR1BY, is active from Valle de Angeles on 6 meters.
He is working QRP, only 8 watts. Check around 1830z and 2330z. QSL via
EA7FTR.
Chesterfield Isl., FK. The first expedition to this brand new DXCC en-
tity starts on Apr 24 to arrive on the island three days later. They
plan to operate with three stations simultaneously mainly on the low-
bands and 15m/6m until May 3. The operators Jacky, F2CW, Dany, F5CW,
Georges, FK8FS, Daniel, FK8FU, Philippe, FO3BM, and Akinori, ZL1GO/
JA4EKO will use either TX0C or TX5C from the island. During their trip
they will sign TX4A/mm. QSL: 6m via JA1BK, all other bands via ZL3CW.

2001 ARRL June VHF QSO Party. ARRL June VHF QSO Party always the second
full weekend in June. This year (2001) it starts on Saturday June 9 1800
UT and ends on Monday June 11 0300 UT. Full rules in QST May 2001, page

ARRL Field Day 2001. The field Day is always the fourth full weekend of
June, beginning at 1800 UT Saturday and ending at 2100 UT Sunday.
Field Day 2001 will be held June 23-24. DX stations may be contacted but
are not eligible to compete. Full rules in QST May 2001, pages 112-113.

Greece, SV. CEPT operation on 50 MHz ! Robin M1DUD, writes; CEPT 6
METRES IN GREECE THIS IS NOT PERMITTED BY THE GREEK MINISISTRY OF
TRANSPORT AND COMMUNICATIONS. See www.qsl.net/oh2mcn/licence.htm. for
latest news. I have written to the greek goverment and they do not
permitt any person who is not a Greek Citizen to operate on 6m. You
must hold a proper SV call - not even a SV0 call. Operation under
supervision I think is permitted. Information can be got from SV9ANJ

Ascension Isl. ZD8. Ian M0BCG, writes; Beacon update at ZD8 soon.
Johnny ZD8KW went back to ZD8 at the 9 th., took a cuscraft ringo ran-
ger vertical with him donated by Nevada/G3SED to replace on the ZD8
beacon, i assembled it at my house and tuned it up for 50.035 Mhz,
taped and marked it and put back in box, he will change the aerial and
put a new pole up sometime in next couple of weeks.
Ascension Isl. ZD8. I am please to let you know i have replace the
beacon antenna at ZD8 with the help of lenny ZD8LJD so it is running
again with a new vertical that was donated by Nevada Communications in
the UK it will be interesting to if there is any improvement i am also
looking email address of zs6wb or Hal Please drop me and Email if you
happen to read this look forward to some good reports from you all

Jamaica, 6Y. 6Y1A The rare prefix of 6Y1A will be activated by N6BT,
KE7X, N6XG and K2KW in the CQ WPX CW Contest May 26-27, 2001. Outside
the contest, look for operations using homecall/6Y5 from May 20 to May
29. KW amplifiers will be used on 6 through 40 meters, and vertical
arrays will be provided by Force 12. Special emphasis will be given on
the WARC bands and 6 meters outside the contest. QSL 6Y1A & K2KW/6Y5

England, G. Just booked a holiday on the island of Mull, IO66, from
2-9 June 2001. Sorry I wont be able to stay for the UKSMG contest :-(
but will be QRV for some of the RSGB event on 2/3 June. Can try SSB MS
for stations who are too close for Es. I'll be running 100 watts to a
5 element tonna. Hope its a new sqaure for some of you - QSLs will be
via Bureau only - my address is not correct in any callbook or callsign

Bermuda Isl, VP9. I am considering VP9 in the 2nd Week of July (I have
the use of a house on Knapton hill) do many people still need VP9, or

brouht a IC 767 with 6m capability to Djerba Island but has no licence

Falklands, VP8. Next month Roger Eeles, G0SWC, will be returning to
East Falkland where he will be QRV with QRP as VP8DBR. Starting around
May 15 he will be mainly active on 6 through 40 meters SSB with some CW
(QRS) and PSK31. There is a possibility of 80 and 160 meter operation.
