Greetings to All YLs and OMs on Net, and those reading
along, as this is posted to Packet Radio as well as
the YL Net on the Yahoo Groups, thus getting better
coverage.
After so many years of just not being around to get to
a net, and a "oh well lets try see" by whatever, here
they were , my first Echolink YL Net since when ever
wayback when.
Good collection of new people to me, but also some old
callsigns which is great to see, one for sure familar.
At the end of the net, an interesting drift the net
is going, as no longer just considered a "YL NET"
but with the addition of OMs a "Friendship Net".
Guess what! This isn't new. At one time, when I first
got going on PACKET Radio, it wasn't a "YL NET" but
went by the name of the "Happy Gang" and it was either
HAPPY @WW or something, but came at that time out of
Florida USA, and had a big following, until well wifes
were encouraged and it took on the YL @WW and then the
1995 YL Cookbook came out by Nancy KH6LHU. I still have
a copy of the disk sent to my mother and I.
< Not sure of Nancy's call but that one I have looks close>
SO whatever it evolves to is "ok" with me, as over the years
it has been well supported. It is the people who make it
a success, so whats in a name .
