Hello YL @WW ., To all participants and those reading along,via
whatever means, other the packet radio and my posting this to
the YL Yahoo group site.
WX: Here at the lake, we've been thawed, froozen, and all within
a day. Really crazy stuff we've seen blow in from the South-West
with a little extra from the West North-west to cool it down.
SNOW...shovelled enough...raked enough off the roof. Boring
subject :)
Nothing much happened this passig month, except the furnace konked
out, and well after trying to fix it and inspect it, I found
badly fried wiring < due to the teens that stayed here that year
and had the temperature guage at the end of the dial....???? >.
I had to call in the local contractor, and he verified it, as well
mentioned there was a lot, and it would need a re-wiring, but
really, we should consider a new furnace. That was a nice bill
as well thoughts of the price of a new furnace, if we are staying
here, which I hope not. Replaced the motor and controllers and
placed into the cct a new toy that lets me know a few things
to restart etc... <g>.
On top of that due to the crazy WX and cold that was not expected
I also burned too much oil, and the tank near ran out. Had a
fill delievered a week ago....so that isn't really bad.
Warm thru all of this ? ... In case you are wondering..yep! That
Artic Sleepingbag. When I had a flu feeling at one point, I
just zipped myself in, and lost it quick. Emerging in the mornings
into the cold house was a challenge. I'd stick the arm out....ooooh
that was cold...then make the dash for the fireplace...and get that
going ASP ...then to the wall where the temps showed near freezing
and pop the furnace on to warm things up ....or that saying;
" Take the frost off the pumpkin".
Maria of course is the highlight of the day, as I check in with her
via MSN or Skype, and now so many other wonderful friends. It keeps
her in touch with me, as well the webcam out the window, for anyone
visiting, and of course so she can see that I am "ok" and doing
things as promised, like my shovelling, wood cutting, roof raking
< when necessary> as well only "5" minutes on the GNWB.
Other then that...all is normal, and yes no "stunts" like last year
as also others call here to make sure I am ok, and daily checks
and the only thing I have not been able to do with all this time
is figure out when the YL net is running on Echolink. I have
been so bad in attendance that ... well I seem to feel there are
two nets running, and well not really a part as I was on Packet
Radio. This called progress ... but excuse me if I miss those
who are no longer on packet, or can not make it to their local
BBS. I got a few emails last time when I started posting
the 1995 KE6LHU's YL Cookbook. That was great to hear from
them but it has dropped off.
This is becoming a monster...like my "jungle" oops garden,
which is all set to get into ASP, and the WX is right.
I hope too, that Maria posts to the URL the photos she took in
BRASIL <BRAZIL> [<0>] ...
MARCH 2011... is drawing near. I hope everyone is doing well.
